About Gold Grip Vises

Gold Grip Vises is a Canadian-developed modular CNC workholding system for manufacturers machining large, complex, irregular and high-mix components. Its repositionable bases, backstops and clamping heads allow the system to be configured around the workpiece and expanded across the machine table.

Who Invented Gold Grip Vises?

Gold Grip Vises was invented by Canadian machinist Jason McMann and developed inside Custom Contract Manufacturing Services (CCMS) in Bolton, Ontario. The patent-pending system grew from the everyday challenge of securing difficult components while maintaining machining access and reducing time lost to repeated setups.

Why Was Gold Grip Developed?

As part complexity increased at CCMS, more spindle time was being lost to re-fixturing, re-indicating and workflow interruptions. Gold Grip was developed to turn the machine table into a flexible, table-scale workholding system that could be reconfigured as parts and production requirements changed.
